The Pastor’s Pen!!!
Wednesday is July 4th! Happy Birthday, America! “Blessed is the nation, whose God is the Lord.” (Psalm 33:12) God has blessed us tremendously. Our political & personal freedom, & freedom to worship, are some of our greatest blessings. From the Founding Fathers to the 21st century, men & women of all races have fought & died to give us our freedom, but What makes us Free?
The Scriptures make us Free. Jesus said, “the Truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32) “I am the way, the Truth & the life, no one comes to the Father, but by Me.” (John 14:6) Throughout our history, men have lived by the Bible and fought so we could have that same freedom. Our Bible was printed in English so that everyone would have the freedom to read the Bible in their language. The written Word of God tells us about the Living Word of God.
It is the Savior that sets us truly Free. Jesus said, “If the Son shall set you free, you shall be Free indeed.” (John 8:36) Jesus, the Son of God, died on the Cross to set us Free from Sin and Death. Our political freedom is a blessing from God, it makes us Free Citizens. Our spiritual freedom comes from Faith in Jesus Christ, it makes us Free Saints.
The Spirit also makes us Free. Paul writes, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (2 Cor 3:17) Religion was designed so we could find God, through religious ceremonies and traditions. But Christ came to free us from the law, & religion, & give us His Holy Spirit. The early Church turned their world upside down without Buildings, Bulletins, or Budgets. They were Free to Live for Christ and tell the world that Jesus lives and you can live forever with Him in Heaven. You can either live for Him, or die without Him, never understanding what True Freedom really is.
On this July 4th, Thank God for the Freedom we enjoy in America today, Pray for America, then ask God Bless the USA!

WOW!!! Are you ready for a Revolution? How about a Teen Revolution? We just got back from Camp, we had 22 Youth & Adults go to Uplands Reach in NC. Praise God, while we were there, 1 got Saved, & how many other lives were changed! The week’s Theme, “Revolution,” was taken from Romans 12:1-2, “Be not conformed to this world, but be Transformed.” Based upon the number of Youth in Bible School & their Attitudes, I would definitely say they have been changed, Transformed. Somebody’s on Fire! Remember, we are 121 Underground! It’s based on Rom 12:1-2 & designed around the same theme.
We had Vacation Bible School last week, averaged 22 in the Youth Group, & had 25 Youth one night. Go God! Thanks to all the Youth who worked in VBS as part of their requirement for the WV Mission Trip. They had to take a Witnessing Class & do 2 Service Projects.
We have 8 Youth & 6 Adults going on the Construction Mission Trip to Hedgesville, WV, with Team Effort, on July 15th – 21st, repairing & rebuilding homes. We had 20 people sign up to go, but only 14 have registered & paid for the trip. And we have raised enough money for us to go to WV.
There are some other changes happening within the Youth Group. Mike Ott resigned as Youth Pastor as of May 30th, now Josh Allan is now serving as our Interim Youth Pastor. (Josh is a Seminary student at Liberty.) We plan to meet with the Youth Leadership Team, made up of Youth, parents, & other Youth workers
