“The Trinity Trumpet”

“Seeking Him, Serving Him”

Volume 45 Number 8               August 2012

Pastor's Pen - Sherry's Song - Numbers - Events - Youth - Pantry

The Pastor's Pen

God is Doing Something at Trinity!  He is moving in our midst, moving people into new positions to serve Him, getting us ready for what He wants to do.  Are You Ready, ready for what God is going to do?  Are you ready to Follow Him, Wherever He Leads?

You Can’t Stay Where You Are & Go with God!  Moses couldn’t stay on the backside of the desert & go with God.  The Israelites couldn’t stay in Egypt & go to the Promised Land.  The Disciples could not continue Fishing & go with Jesus.  We can’t stay where we are, spiritually, physically, & join God in what He is doing.

Sometimes You have to go through the Desert to get to God.  A 40 day journey took 40 years to complete as the Israelites wandered in the desert because of their disobedience & unbelief.  We learn the Shortest way is not always the Best way, sometimes we can’t handle the Easiest way.  At times we are faced with choices that will either lead us through the desert or back to God.

God will Lead us Where He Wants us to Go. God led the Israelites through the desert by a pillar of Fire & Smoke, then into the Promised Land.  God speaks to us by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances & the Church to reveal Himself, His purposes & His ways.  God will lead us, speaking to us; we only have to Follow Him.  He will show us what He wants us to do.

Are You Ready to join God in what He is Doing?  Jeremy has accepted the call to become our Youth Pastor, eager to lead our Student Ministry.  Carol has returned to Trinity to play the piano & lead the Choir.  Sherry is following God’s leading in starting a Praise Team.  Will you join us in Going with God?

    Sherry's Song

The music of our God is a universal language.  It can help us to voice our deepest desires, to move our hearts to repentance, help us to pray when we don’t know how and gives us a wonderful avenue to worship our God.  As we celebrate the 4th of July let us, as God’s children, lift our voices the highest in praise because our Lord has given us a song that even the angels cannot sing…the ultimate song of freedom, the SONG OF THE REDEEMED!  OH how our God has blessed and provided us with beautiful music!

July’s door has closed and I pray that our offerings of praise so far this year have been a sweet sound from our heart to our Heavenly Father.  As August begins the rest of this year, my prayer is that our hearts will always be open to all avenues of worship, whether it is in the singing of hymns or praise songs, in reading God’s Word, in our prayers, in hearing the message that God sends to us through our Pastor or admiring His handiwork that surrounds us each day.

May each of us always be mindful of the fact that it is not about us but everything is ALL about Him, our Mighty, Creator God.

“Come, let us worship and bow down,

let us kneel before the Lord our God, our Maker.

For He is our God and we are the people of His pasture

and the sheep of His hand, just the sheep of His hand…

just the sheep of His hand.”

(lyrics to “Come Let Us Worship and Bow Down”)

Until we meet again…keep praising the Lord!                   Sherry J

In my first newsletter, which was for March of this year, I included my verse of choice as Jeremiah 29:11. For I know the thoughts I think towards you, says the Lord thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.  I am choosing to revisit that verse.

!! THANK YOU !!

On behalf of Team Nicaragua, sincere appreciation is expressed for all that was done by Trinity members to make the Mission Trip such a success.  Thanks to all who attended & supported the pancake dinner, who contributed to the cost of the mission trip for team members, and who, most of all, supported us with your Prayers.  Thanks to the collaborative support from our community, the Team was able to start a house in the village of Pascuala.  Team Nicaragua was made up of people from various churches in our area.  The Team left on Sunday, July 22nd, & returned home very early on Sunday, July 29th.

Look what God can do through us when we put our efforts together for one cause…to spread the GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST around the world!!

From Team Nicaragua 2012!!
