“He’s Alive!”

Volume 40 Number 4               April 2007

Pastor's Pen - Business Notes - Mission Opportunities - Numbers - Youth - Women's Ministry

The Pastor’s Pen!!!

Easter!  I love this time of year.  I get so excited thinking about springtime, Easter and the Resurrection.  Why?  Remember the song the ladies sang, “He’s Not here, He Arose just like He said.”  He arose from the Grave.  Jesus is Alive!  The Tomb is Empty!  Hallelujah!  Praise God!  Doesn’t that get you Excited?

Easter means the Resurrection occurred, just like He said it would.  Jesus told the Pharisees, “destroy this body and I’ll raise it up in three days.”  The Resurrection means Jesus kept His Word.  He is who He says He is.  He is the Son of God who came to Die for the Sins of the whole world, but He Arose from the grave to give us Victory over Sin and Death.  He kept His Word! “He Arose just like He said.”

Easter also means we too shall live.  As Job said, “after this body is destroyed, yet in my flesh, I shall see God.”  Because He lives, we too shall live.  Whether we live, or die, or raptured, we’re going to live with Jesus forever, in Heaven.  Paul says Jesus is the “first-fruits” of those that sleep.  That means Jesus arose first, then we shall follow, to arise from the grave just like He did, to be just like Him.  His Tomb is Empty!  Our grave will be empty, too.  That reminds me of another song, “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.”

The Empty Tomb, the Resurrected Lord, changed the disciples.  They got excited and shared the Living Lord with the entire world.  Has the resurrection changed you?  “He’s Not here, He Arose just like He said.”  “Come, see the place where the Lord lay, He is not here, for He is Risen!” “He Arose! He Arose! Hallelujah! Christ Arose!”
